Through my research I have had many contacts with media. Projects include:

- Scientific documentary about Tertiary forests in Canada called 'Our Tropical Arctic' produced by Breakthrough Films and Royal Canadian Geographical Society of Canada.

- Local secretary of the Geology section of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, National Science Festival in Leeds, 1997.

- Scientist on 'Live from Dinosaur Island', BBC2 TV programmes about dinosaur fossils and fossil plants on the Isle of Wight.

- Science programmes about climate change for schools, Yorkshire TV.

- Several BBC Radio 4 science programmes, and schools' speaker for SET events.

- Many talks to schools, amateur natural history societies, university societies, and at national events (e.g. Kew Gardens Rockwatch events for the public)
